Scientists in the Good Housekeeping Institute Beauty Lab followed stringent industry protocols to evaluate beauty products and choose the winners—take a look.

Good Housekeeping announced the winners of its 2023 Beauty Awards—here are a few highlights. 

How were the winners chosen? GH Beauty Lab scientists methodically tested over 1,000 beauty products, including skincare, hair, makeup, tools, and treatments.

  • GH Beauty Lab Test Results: “In calculations with a Cutometer device, which gauges laxity, it raised skin firmness by 33% in four weeks. It also increased hydration by 28% over six hours in readings with a Corneometer machine, which measures skin moisture levels.”
BELIEVABLE BRONZER: Merit Beauty Bronze Balm Sheer Bronzer
  • GH Beauty Lab Test Results: “This cream bronzer wand gives skin a realistic “sun-kissed” effect. It scored high in nearly every category of Beauty Lab evaluations, including looking natural on skin, applying evenly, diffusing seamlessly and matching skin’s tone.”

  • GH Beauty Lab Test Results: “The powders glided on smoothly, gave eyes dimension and didn’t settle into lines.”
